Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification required.
• Two years of HCC coding experience required; CRC preferred.
• Training in medical terminology, anatomy & physiology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and office software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze provider documentation for complete medical records.
• Chart review to identify CMSHCC codes for outpatient/inpatient visits.
• Assist in CMS STAR quality measures reporting.
• Follow ICD-10-CM coding and reporting guidelines per AZPC policy.
• Demonstrate analytical/problem-solving for HCC information barriers.
• Enter and report validated ICD-10 codes accurately.
• Support process and quality improvement initiatives.
• Own coding projects and coordinate with team for timely completion.
• Stay current on government coding and compliance issues.
• Attend seminars and in-services to maintain knowledge.
• Share coding knowledge with management staff.
• Some roles may be remote with minimal supervision; remote status possible.
• Other duties as assigned.
