Job summary

CHS Inc. in Willmar, MN is seeking a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves hauling crop protection to customers in a timely manner, with a Monday-Friday schedule and a morning start.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and deliver hazardous materials to customer locations using a semi-tractor and trailer and/or bobtail truck in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
• Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report equipment issues, maintenance needs, incidents, or near misses promptly.
• Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness; notify leadership of incidents.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Summary

CHS in Willmar, MN is looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team. This individual is responsible for hauling crop protection to our customers in a timely manner. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with a morning start time. We are looking for a driver who is comfortable being OTR in the truck for 3-4 nights each week and travelling to various locations across the US. The driver will be home for the weekends. The ideal candidate would possess a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements. We are open to helping the right candidate obtain the necessary endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, and coordinate with internal teams as needed
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report equipment issues, maintenance needs, incidents, or near misses promptly. Perform interior maintenance and upkeep as needed
• Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs
• Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness. Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns
• Perform additioanl duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
• Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required
• 2+ years of verifiable CDL driving experience
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience hauling hazardous materials
• Demonstrated safety performance and consistent adherence to procedures in hazardous materials operations.
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
• Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and to the top of a tanker trailer
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.
