Job summary

CHS Inc. in Kalispell, MT is seeking a Hazmat Truck Driver to haul propane to local customers. The role features a Monday–Friday daytime schedule with on-call rotating weekends and potential overtime in peak seasons.

A Class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements is required. You will safely transport hazardous materials, perform pre-trip inspections, complete logs, and provide professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and deliver hazardous materials to customer locations using a semi-tractor and trailer and/or bobtail truck in a safe, compliant manner, and timely manner.
• Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
• Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report equipment issues, maintenance needs, incidents, or near misses promptly. Perform interior maintenance and upkeep as needed.
• Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness. Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Summary

CHS in (location) is looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team. This individual is responsible for hauling propane to our local customers in a timely manner. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, daytime hours, with on call rotating weekends. There will be overtime available during our busy season in the fall and winter. The ideal candidate would possess a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
• Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required
• 2+ years of verifiable CDL driving experience
• Must meet age requirement
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience hauling hazardous materials
• Demonstrated safety performance and consistent adherence to procedures in hazardous materials operations.
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
• Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment.
• Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, which may include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and to the top of a tanker trailer
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.
