Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Parsippany, NJ seeks a Hazmat Specialist to join its multidisciplinary team. You will perform surveys and sampling of building materials for asbestos, lead‑based paint, PCB’s and other contaminants, and monitor abatement/remediation projects.

Responsibilities include assisting with environmental sampling of soils, water, dust and indoor air, conducting post‑abatement inspections, and maintaining current knowledge of planning practices and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Licenses/certifications in asbestos and lead inspection/monitoring.
• 0–4 years of related practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveys and sampling of interior and exterior building materials for asbestos, lead‑based paint, PCB’s, and other contaminants.
• Assist with environmental sampling of soils, water, dust and indoor air as needed.
• Monitor abatement/remediation contractors and document work; conduct post‑abatement inspections.
• Stay current on planning practices and guidelines and participate in training sessions.
• Perform other duties as requested.
