Job summary

Clean Harbors in Marlborough, MA is seeking an entry-level Hazmat Material Handler to assist with labpacks, HHW collections, and lab moves at plants, labs, and customer sites. You will handle packaging, labeling, and shipment of hazardous materials under supervision.

The role offers on-site training, safety-focused culture, and opportunities for growth. A High School diploma and CDL Class B or willingness to obtain are required, with background checks and drug testing part of the process.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • CDL Class B license or willingness to obtain one is required or preferred.
  • Prior chemical handling experience or chemistry knowledge preferred.
  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Packaging and labeling waste products and other materials.
  • Identifying unknown chemicals when encountered.
  • Performing inspections of staging, accumulating, and storage areas for housekeeping and compliance.
  • Collecting, segregating, and packaging waste chemicals for disposal.
  • Quality control of waste materials being stored and shipped.
  • Completing manifests and tracing paperwork.
  • Using CHOICE waste management software to manage waste programs.

The Opportunity

The Hazmat Material Handler works both indoors and outdoors at plants, labs, and customer sites; and is responsible for assisting with daily labpacks within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections and lab moves.

Qualifications
