Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a HazMat Field Driver/Technician in the Seattle region to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class A trucks and a variety of trailers. The role includes occasional straight-truck work and a schedule that may include 3–4 overnight shifts per week, with weekends/holidays off in most cases.

Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment, DOT compliance, accurate documentation, and effective communication with customers.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements required or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Essential knowledge of DOT regulations for hazardous waste transport.
• Strong attention to safety and detail, able to follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate with customers and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A tractors and trailers (roll-offs, tankers, etc.).
• Perform LTL pickups and waste manifest handling.
• Maintain driver logs, trip reports, and DOT paperwork.
• Comply with hazmat labeling, loading, and segregation requirements.
