DLA Careers is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to oversee hazardous materials receipt, storage, and disposal at a DLA site. You will ensure regulatory compliance and provide technical guidance to field offices and disposal teams to maintain safe, compliant operations.

The role requires handling hazardous materials, coordinating storage facilities, and supporting permit processes while adhering to federal environmental policies and EMS standards.

Competenze

• Specialized experience in receipt, storage, sale and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ability to advise generators, field personnel, customers and contractors on environmental requirements.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal rules governing hazardous materials handling.

Mansioni

• Direct compliance responsibilities for physically stored hazardous materials at the DLA site.
• Coordinate a Conforming Storage Facility for hazardous materials across a state area.
• Determine permit requirements and assist with permit applications.
• Oversee environmental disposal program activities at full-service sites.
• Provide technical guidance to warehousing and sales/reutilization staff
