Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Hazmat/Disaster Preparedness Coordinator to support the emergency management program within the Emergency Department. The role requires coordination with local, state, and federal partners on all-hazards planning, response, and recovery activities.

Ideal candidates will have Hazmat experience and teaching credentials, with strong public speaking skills and the ability to lead training for ED staff.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in emergency management, chemistry, fire science, or related field.
• Three years of Hazmat related experience.
• Three years of teaching experience in a related field.
• Proficiency with public speaking and classroom instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining an integrated emergency management program with an all-hazards approach to disaster planning, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation in the emergency department.
• Participates in accreditation visits related to Emergency Department and Emergency Management (Joint Commission, CMS, Trauma verification).
• Design, coordinate, and implement emergency preparedness plans for the ED using an all-hazards approach, including hazmat incidents and MCI scenarios.
• Act as on-site liaison for HAZMAT emergencies and provide on-scene support to CBRNE trained staff and patients.
