Job summary

Maine Oxy in South Portland, ME is hiring a HazMat Class B Driver for local routes with home every night and weekends. The position offers $30.00/hour hourly pay and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Full-time, steady schedule, overtime often available, and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include delivering cylinders and hard goods, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate paperwork, and ensuring safety with DOT/OSHA standards. CDL with HazMat and airbrakes required.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B required with HazMat endorsement and airbrakes.
• 1+ year of driving experience or driving school training in past 4 years.

• Run a scheduled local route delivering cylinders and hard goods, and return empties for refilling.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any issues.
• Keep load manifests and vehicle paperwork accurate and balanced with truck counts.
• Build good customer relationships and help them stay ahead of their cylinder needs.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations and keep the truck clean and professional.

Qualifications:

• Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement and airbrakes
• At least 21 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of driving experience or driving school training in the past 4 years
• A clean record: no at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past 3 years
• Able to meet DOT physical qualification standards
• Able to read Safety Data Sheets and comfortable with basic computer order entry
• Experience handling compressed gases is a plus, not a requirement
