Job summary

Clean Harbors in South Portland, ME is seeking a Class B CDL Driver (Hazmat) to operate light and heavy-duty trucks and equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trailers and roll-off trailers. The role involves driving and non-driving duties related to hazardous waste clean-up, with on-site responsibilities and a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement must be obtained within 90 days of employment
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Pass background check, drug test, and physical, as required per position
• Facial hair standards per OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.34)

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed
• Operate a variety of Class B trucks
• Load and unload trucks
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and related reports
• Ensure customer satisfaction at time of service
• Placard vehicles to meet DOT requirements/regulations
• Follow local, state and federal compliance and regulatory requirements
• Safely operate vehicles per U.S. DOT and company guidelines
• Be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis
• Site remediation and handling of hazardous materials as assigned
