Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers and roll offs, with responsibilities in hazardous waste cleanup both on-site and off-site.

Start times are typically between 6–7 am, with overtime after 40 hours. New hires attend a two-week academy training out of state, paid by the company, and there may be significant overnight travel at start.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Manual labor on site to meet customer needs.
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state and federal compliance regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with DOT and regulations.
• Observe company environmental health and safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on rotating basis.
