Job summary

Clean Harbors in Urbana, IL is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll offs. The role involves driving and non-driving duties for hazardous waste cleanup at sites and on customer locations.

This position requires new hires to attend an out-of-state Academy training; training is paid and company expenses are covered.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL as required for commercial driving.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to use mobile devices and comply with safety protocols.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and medical exam as applicable.
• Respiratory protection standards require facial hair controls.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority and follow all safety policies.
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed in a team setting.
• Drive a variety of Class A trucks including vacuum trucks and roll-offs.
• Load and unload trucks and perform on-site manual labor to meet customer needs.
• Properly placard vehicles to meet DOT requirements and regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
• Follow local, state and federal compliance regulations and vehicle requirements.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis when assigned.
