Job summary

Linde plc in Greer, SC is hiring a driver to unload, deliver, and reload gas cylinders at customer sites. You will drive about 30% of the day and handle deliveries, shipping paperwork, inspections, and cylinder handling for efficient service.

The role requires a valid CDL A/B with Hazmat, a High School diploma or GED, and a record free of major violations. You’ll perform safety inspections, maintain documentation, and support inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years driving experience or completion of truck driver training with equipment similar to Linde's.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in past two years.
• No alcohol-related convictions in past ten years.
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Valid class A/B CDL is required.
• Hazmat certification on CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Two+ years experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Unload and deliver cylinders to customer use points and reload empty cylinders.
• Drive ~30% of the day; remaining time on delivery, cylinder handling, shipping paperwork, and inspections.
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles delivered and picked up.
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping papers per DOT/TC regulations.
• Placard vehicle per hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Identify needed vehicle repairs or maintenance and arrange timely service.
• Process cylinder handling per plant guidelines; inspect and retest as needed.
• Test cylinders visually, physically, and by odor; determine retest/repair needs.
• Check cylinder quantities, styles and product, filling as needed.
• Load/unload from weekly shuttle truck; operate forklift and other plant vehicles.
• Prepare warehouse transfer orders and log quantities in the system for inventory control.
• Maintain quality control documentation per company and governmental procedures.
