Job summary

Seminole County Board of County Commissioners seeks a skilled worker to perform hazardous and electronic waste handling, packaging and storage at the Household Hazardous Waste facility. You will inspect containers, support disposal and educate residents on proper waste practices, while following safety policies and using PPE.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid Florida driver’s license, and 2 years’ related experience; HAZWOPER training must be completed within six months of

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
HAZWOPER training within six months of employment.
Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
Two years’ experience in waste handling or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Receives, identifies, sorts, segregates, processes and prepares hazardous waste for proper storage, recycling or disposal.
Responds to inquiries, educates the public on proper hazardous waste disposal and provides customer service.
Operates and monitors radio communications to coordinate daily operations and safety.
Operates vehicles and equipment including trucks, forklifts, pumps, generators and compactors.
Transports and handles waste materials and assists in coordinating shipments as needed.
