Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. in Williston, VT is seeking a hazardous waste technician to load/unload containers and sample contents, consolidating materials for processing. The role requires 40-hour HAZWOPER training and the ability to operate heavy equipment.

2nd shift hours are 11am-7:30pm Mon-Thu and 9am-5pm Fri with overtime possibilities. Training is provided for forklift operation; a valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Qualifications

• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• 2nd shift: Monday through Thursday 11am-7:30pm & Friday 9-5. Usually, 2-5 hrs of overtime weekly.
• Pay range: $18.90 to $26.02 per hour depending on locality.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload drums, totes, and containers of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from trucks.
• Sample contents of drums, totes, and containers.
• Consolidate drum contents into larger containers for processing.
• Operate forklift under safety standards; forklift license not required, company-provided training.
