Job Description

The Hazardous Waste Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of 5-10 employees that collects and categorizes both hazardous and regulated medical waste for a scientific testing services company. The Team Leader will make work schedules for employees, coach, train, and mentor employees, and ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable environmental regulations (including filing compliance reports when necessary). The Team Leader will be responsible for arranging waste pickups with external waste transportation companies, assessing levels of waste production, and leading efforts to reduce the production of hazardous and regulated medical waste.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to independently and collaboratively perform the following requirements:

1. Package chemicals for shipment or disposal
2. Maintain clean and orderly chemical storage areas
3. Ship hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to RCRA time limits
4. Track the volume of waste generated for reporting to corporate and the EPA
5. Coordinate workflow and monitor employee activities daily
6. Interview, train, and regularly evaluate employee performance
7. Confront and address problems, concerns, and performance issues
8. Coach and develop individuals and the team to maximize performance

Additional Information

Position is full-time, working 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday, with some weekend overtime as needed.Candidates currently living within commutable distance to Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
