Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Responsibilities

• Collect, transport, segregate, accumulate, and perform initial disposal of hazardous waste for all University locations.
• Determine proper method of accumulation and disposal based on hazard classes and chemical compatibility.
• Perform tests and lab analyses to characterize unknown chemical disposal waste streams.
• Develop and maintain environmental compliance documentation and records for disposal shipments and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to hazardous material releases using appropriate cleanup and safety procedures.
• Assist in developing records, protocols for safe response, and support emergency response groups.
