Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Waste Project Manager to oversee complex waste loading, handling and transportation projects across the Midwest. The role requires openness to travel, with up to 50% remote work and frequent project site visits nationwide.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, with a preference for a Bachelor’s in engineering or related fields; 5+ years in hazardous waste disposal and strong customer management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines preferred.
• 5+ years’ demonstrated experience in hazardous waste disposal process preferred.
• Strong customer management skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large, technically and regulatory complex projects involving waste loading, handling, transportation (truck, rail, marine) and disposal activities.
• Travel to various projects and locations as needed.
• Interface with sales, operations, customers, and engineers to align expectations.
• Prepare reports including proposals, cost estimates, work scopes, manifests, bill of laden, inspections and status reports.
• Submit site status and regulatory compliance reports when required.
• Assist with financial tasks, budgeting, forecasting and period closure.
• Build relationships with key customers and understand their concerns and priorities.
• Lead teams of superintendents, foremen, equipment operators and other professionals.
