Veolia is seeking a hands-on Hazardous Waste Technician in Sauget, IL, to prepare materials for incineration. The role requires outdoor work, outdoor safety, and a two-week day shift followed by a rotating night shift, with alternating weekends.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, packaging waste, inventory recording, and coordination with shift teams. High School diploma or GED is required and the position offers a competitive hourly wage with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Trained in the use of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble boxes and stage materials for processing and repackaging waste into charge boxesfor incinerator.
• Suit up with proper personal protection equipment for environmental protection.
• Break down and extract waste materials from various containers and dumps into mixing pan.
• Process materials into solids, mixes and/or slurries and repackages into charge boxes per plan; weigh charges to meet specifications.
• Record all material processed using electronic scanning devices for in-process inventory.
• Consolidate material from drums into roll-off containers for incineration.
• Reclaim vendor drums for recycling and crush drums that are not reusable.
• Dump waste hoppers and clean the process area, maintaining cleanliness around the department.
