Job summary

WM is seeking a laboratory supervisor for the landfill laboratory to ensure safe, efficient daily operations in coordination with the laboratory manager.

The role focuses on quality control, compliance with RCRA and waste analysis plans, and overseeing laboratory personnel. The supervisor will ensure safety and proper disposal methods while coordinating with other supervisors and maintaining customer relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Chemistry required.
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
• 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).
• Preferred: none listed.

Responsibilities

• Ensures laboratory operations and data meet quality control objectives.
• Adheres to waste analysis plan and RCRA regulations as it pertains to analysis and testing.
• Reviews special waste to determine acceptability for hazardous waste disposal.
• Performs routine laboratory functions as assigned.
• Facilitates the receipt of materials for treatment and disposal in compliance with WM policies and procedures.
• Identifies appropriate treatment and disposal methodologies for the specific waste.
• Oversees laboratory personnel, including coaching, training, and evaluating performance.
• Ensures health and safety of employees and environment.
• Coordinates with other supervisors to keep services informed.
• Keeps laboratory manager informed of problems requiring attention.
• Interacts with customers and assists with questions/concerns.
