Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. is seeking a Lab Services Tech to manage hazardous waste and support lab scientists with waste container replenishment, labeling, decontamination, and weekly inspections of satellite accumulation areas at multiple sites.

The role requires PPE use, compliance with labeling requirements, safe handling of hazardous and biological waste, and coordination with third-party waste haulers. Some travel to customer sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Able to read and follow safety procedures and manuals.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced lab environment.
• Proficient in basic lab waste handling and safety practices.
• Experience with waste management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE for daily waste collection from labs.
• Manage Hazardous Waste (HW) and Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) onsite.
• Maintain satellite waste accumulation areas with proper labeling and storage.
• Respond to special requests for waste container replenishment or spills.
• Decontaminate waste containers and lab equipment.
• Consolidate chemical liquids for central waste area prep.
• Follow safety procedures and keep a clean, safe workspace.
• Perform weekly inventory of lab supplies and maintain par levels.
• Inspect Central and Satellite Waste Accumulation Areas for GLP compliance.
• Report non-compliance findings and use 4insite for records.
• Coordinate with Stericycle and Clean Harbors for offsite waste hauling.
• Transport gas cylinders and LN2/HE Dewars safely to storage areas.
