Job summary

Tradebe Environmental Services in East Chicago, IN is seeking an experienced forklift operator for a Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift. You will safely operate forklifts, unload trailers, verify shipments, and store materials while following DOT and hazardous waste guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift operating experience required.
• Experience in hazardous waste or environmental services preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT or RCRA regulations preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to unload incoming trailers and move materials throughout the facility
• Verify incoming shipments and place materials in designated staging or storage areas
• Follow DOT and facility segregation guidelines for hazardous waste handling
• Complete inspections and compliance checks including drum integrity, aisle spacing, and labeling requirements
• Perform daily forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance such as cleaning and adding fluids
• Track inventory movements and complete required paperwork including weight sheets, reports, and tracking logs
• Assist with material preparation, processing operations, and drum sampling as needed
• Other duties as assigned
