Washington University in St. Louis is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety support role to assist with safe waste handling, regulatory compliance, and spill response on the Medical School campus.

The position involves collecting and transporting infectious/medical waste, universal waste, chemical waste, and other regulated materials, with required lab safety practices and data entry. Occasional heavy lifting and on-call spill response duties apply.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: HAZWOPER preferred, CHMM preferred.
• Work Experience: Relevant experience in hazardous waste handling (2+ years).
• Driver’s license: CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsabilités

• Collect, transport, document and assist in shipping infectious and medical waste.
• Collect and transport universal waste, equipment and other regulated materials.
• Assist in collection and management of chemical waste as needed.
• Maintain inventory and records, including data entry.
• Serve on the Hazardous Materials Spill Response Team (HAZWOPER).
• Other duties as assigned.
