Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for hazardous sterile and non‑sterile compounding per diem. You will assist Pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and distributing CSPs and drug products, following SOPs and USP guidelines.

Under direct supervision, you will document work, maintain records, manage inventory, and support QA in the clean room while assisting with patient orders and pharmacy operations on-site in Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher education that would require completion of high school.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, incl. 6 months non-sterile compounding, 1 year nonhazardous sterile, 6 months hazardous sterile.
• Or 1 year experience as a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician with Connecticut Children’s with training in hazardous sterile compounding.
• Education/Experience preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Healthcare.
• CT Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification required; CSPT preferred.
• Knowledge of USP <795>/<797>/<800>, EHR (EPIC), documentation and compounding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Hazardous/non-hazardous sterile compounding under Pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous sterile drug products and non-sterile drugs.
• Maintain accurate records per documentation guidelines.
• Document work in EPIC, DoseEdge, Omnicell and other systems.
• Ensure proper storage and inventory of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist with medication orders and prescription readiness for delivery.
• Support quality assurance in the clean room, including temp/pressure monitoring.
• Answer pharmacy window calls and assist customers on-site.
