Job summary

Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Oakland, Los Angeles, or Sacramento.

You will work with seasoned environmental professionals on field projects involving hazardous building materials, industrial hygiene, sampling, and remediation oversight, developing technical expertise while protecting human health and the environment. You will conduct site assessments, indoor air quality surveys, and assist with project design and monitoring.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/MPH in a science-related field required.
• 2+ years of experience as hazardous building materials or environmental field technician.
• CAC or CSST certification required or ability to obtain.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10/30-Hour Construction Safety certifications required or ability to obtain.
• CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor or Sampling Technician certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and working safely.
• Gain experience in environmental consulting focusing on building-related hazardous materials and industrial hygiene services.
• Conduct building-related environmental, indoor air quality, and health & safety assessments and assist with project design and monitoring.
• Conduct environmental site assessment sampling (air, soil, soil vapor, surface water, groundwater).
• Prepare reports and project documents related to field operations and maintain field logs.
