Job summary

Terraphase Engineering Inc. is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Oakland, Los Angeles or Sacramento offices.

You will work with experienced professionals on field projects involving hazardous building materials, industrial hygiene, sampling, and remediation oversight. Responsibilities include site assessments of asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality, along with environmental sampling and report preparation.

Qualifications

• CAC or CSST certification required.
• College degree in a science-related field required.
• 2+ years’ experience as hazardous building materials technician or environmental field technician.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and 10/30-Hour Construction Safety certifications or ability to obtain.
• CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor or Sampling Technician certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety policies at all times.
• Conduct surveys and assessments of asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, and other hazardous materials.
• Perform environmental site assessment sampling (air, soil, water, groundwater).
• Assist with project design and monitor remediation activities.
• Prepare reports and maintain field logs and documentation.
• Travel to project sites across California as needed.
