Job summary

Harcros Chemicals Inc. seeks a Hazardous Materials Regulatory Manager to ensure safe storage, handling, packaging, and transport of hazmat in compliance with 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG.

You will collaborate with operations, transportation, safety, and environmental teams to develop compliance programs, provide guidance, and drive continuous improvement across the business. The role requires 3–5 years in hazmat/regulatory roles, strong knowledge of DOT HM Regulations, and familiarity with UPS/FedEx

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in hazardous materials/dangerous goods transport, handling, storage, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience applying DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations under 49 CFR, including classification, packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of IATA and IMDG dangerous goods regulations.
• Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and providing guidance to operations.
• Knowledge of UPS and FedEx hazardous materials shipping requirements.
• Preferred: degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG).
• Develop, implement, and maintain hazmat policies, procedures, and programs.
• Provide regulatory guidance to operations, safety, and environmental teams.
• Oversee classification, packaging, labeling, documentation, and transport of hazmat.
• Support hazmat evaluation, auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor compliance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and coordinate hazmat training programs for regulatory compliance.
• Manage regulatory inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions with stakeholders.
• Track regulatory changes and advise leadership on impacts.
• Represent the organization with regulatory agencies and industry associations.
