Job summary

S&H Farm Supply is seeking an experienced Hay Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will work on hay and tillage equipment, focusing on rotary cutters, tractors, and related machinery. Strong expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is essential.

You will diagnose, repair, maintain, and document service tasks, communicate with customers and teammates, and ensure safety standards on-site. Some Saturdays and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read/interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

Hay Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Hay Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. The Hay Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of agricultural equipment, including tractors and other farm machinery with focus on rotary cutters, hay and tillage equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair rotary cutters, hay and tillage equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on agricultural equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of moving parts
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on agricultural equipment
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repairs and maintenance needed
• Operate service vehicles for on-site and off-site repairs
• Fabrication/Welding
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, technician, or other related fields
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail

Some Saturdays will be required, occasional overtime should be expected. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, MVR and background check.
