Job summary

Kamehameha Schools is seeking a full-time Preschool Teaching Assistant to support our Kapalama preschool. This is a M-F 40-hour-per-week position. College credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred.

The Teaching Assistant works with the instructional team to deliver a Hawaiian Culture-Based Education program, maintains safety, and supports teacher-to-student ratios while communicating with families about progress.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred.
• Associates Degree with 9 ECE credits or CDA may apply.
• Two years of college (60 credits) with 16 ECE credits is acceptable.
• Current certifications: first aid and pediatric CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily classroom instruction with group and individual activities.
• Prepare instructional materials and engaging learning resources.
• Support lesson delivery and student engagement.
• Facilitate group activities and cooperative learning.
• Observe and document student behavior and progress for teacher assessments.
• Supervise students to ensure safety and positive behavior.
