Job summary

JTB Hawaii Travel, LLC is seeking a Hawaii-Specialist 2 to contribute to the Tourism Platform initiative, focusing on market research, PoC execution, and the development of transportation services and digital commerce functions.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design customer journeys, coordinate with system vendors, and support platform development across booking, payment, and product management.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, project coordination, digital, or marketing-related roles.
• Strong communication skills in English and Japanese (both verbal and written).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, business partners, and external stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and basic negotiation ability.
• Understanding of travel market dynamics, including Japanese and international customer segments.
• Knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism industry, infrastructure, and mobility environment.
• Familiarity with JTB products, services, and internal systems is preferred.
• Working knowledge of digital tools and platforms (e.g., CMS, data tools, and creative tools such as Adobe Illustrator) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Under the general direction of the Tourism Platform Department Manager, support the development and execution of the Tourism Platform initiative.
• Contribute to building a sustainable tourism business model centered on transportation services by conducting market research.
• Execute PoC (Proof of Concept) and support service design.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support platform development.
• Assist in digital platform development including booking, payment, and product management systems.
• Support development of ancillary products and services such as tours, restaurants, and retail offerings.
