Job summary

Schnabel’s Honolulu office is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to support our tunnel, geotechnical, and dam engineering group. A motivated candidate with attention to detail and a desire to grow as a professional will thrive in this employee-owned environment, with stock-based benefits.

The role involves working on Hawaii-based projects with periodic travel, and it offers a strong, multi-disciplinary team culture and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of design- and/or construction-oriented consulting engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering license or EIT with future licensure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and well organized.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work.
• Ability to navigate construction sites and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design components of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports
• Prepare reports, plans, and specifications
• Communicate with Schnabel team members
• Assist project managers with coordination and admin tasks
• Mentor junior engineers
• Contribute to a cohesive, positive culture company-wide.
