Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operations Manager - Hauling to lead the collections operations for commercial, industrial and residential customers within a dispersed service area. You will supervise a team of supervisors, dispatchers, clerks, drivers and helpers to ensure safe, efficient route execution and budget adherence.

You will work with the General Manager and other leaders to implement local market strategies, drive safety programs, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to lead large teams and manage budgets.
• Strong safety and regulatory compliance mindset.
• Customer service and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management; develop supervisory goals and objectives; resolve safety issues.
• Implement plans to complement the unit's strategy; drive tactical initiatives to maximize customer experience and profitability.
• Ensure productivity and route management for commercial/roll-off/residential routes; manage labor hours and expenses.
• Interact with customers and government employees to resolve concerns; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee safety programs to prevent accidents; maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Lead operations to comply with standards including safety, ethics and environmental rules.
• Approve expenses and manage the operations budget and vendor pricing.
• Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture; drive talent development.
• Build relations with government, community and environmental groups.
