Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator for the Lathrop Quarry in Lathrop, MO. The role involves safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant and supporting day-to-day operations.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid US driver's license, and 1+ years of related experience. Heavy equipment experience or military background is preferred. This is a full-time, 40+ hour per week position with a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment
• Clean work areas
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Notify supervisors of repairs needed
• Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform duties with minimum supervision

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Surface Heavy Equipment Operator at our Lathrop Quarry in Lathrop, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.

Essential Functions

• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
• Work in a team environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
• 1 + years related experience
• Valid US driver's license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
