Job summary

Pilgrim’s Arcadia Location in Arcadia, WI is seeking a Day Shift Hatchery - Utility Team Member to work across the hatchery, including transfer and chick processing duties. The role supports a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The position starts at $22.17 per hour with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential where applicable, and benefits begin after 60 days with opportunities for training and advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• Ability to collect and enter data accurately.
• Must have or be willing to obtain valid PIT license.
• Ability to push/pull carts up to 1,000 pounds.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and learn multiple positions.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work varying hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Move eggs from racks to incubators according to schedules.
• Transfer eggs from incubators to hatchers as part of the transfer team.
• Clean and disinfect incubators, hatchers, rooms, and equipment.
• Monitor equipment and assist in troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Learn and back up all chick processing/transfer positions; on‑call weekends.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Assist in vaccine mixing per company guidelines.
• Participate in safety audits and SOP reviews.
• Other duties as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility Team Member is responsible for working in all areas of the Hatchery, with the primary responsibilities being to work on the transfer crew and chick processing crew as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Trays eggs from farm racks into incubator racks and loads incubators according to set schedules.
• Transfers eggs from incubators to hatchers as part of the transfer team.
• Cleans and disinfects incubators, hatchers, egg room, processing rooms and hatchery equipment.
• Monitors equipment assists in trouble‑sh‑ooting and preventative maintenance.
• Must learn and back up all chick processing and transfer team positions. This includes being on call rotating weekends.
• Assists in training new team members.
• Assists in mixing and dispensing vaccines according to company guidelines.
• Participates in safety audits, SOP reviews.
• Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

• Ability to push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
• Must have or be willing to obtain valid PIT license (pallet jack and scissor lift).
• Ability to work in wet, dusty, loud conditions.
