Position Overview

The Night Shift Hatchery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all hatchery operations during night hours, ensuring safe working conditions, high-quality chick production, and efficient staffing across both hatcheries. This role supports company safety, quality, and production standards while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Safety
  • Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring safety trends and enforcing company safety policies.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, including hard hats, ear plugs, and hairnets, depending on the work area.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and weekly safety observations.
  • Promote safe work practices among all employees.
Quality
  • Ensure the hatchery team produces high‑quality chicks for the broiler department.
  • Uphold animal welfare standards and best management practices in both hatchery and field environments.
  • Maintain a zero‑defect standard across all operations.
  • Verify proper sanitation procedures are consistently followed.
Production
  • Oversee all hatchery operations during the night shift.
  • Ensure eggs are processed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with Hatchery Management to align nightly schedules with production needs.
  • Manage staffing levels to adequately support both hatcheries.
Operational & Administrative Duties
  • Reassign employees as needed to ensure proper staffing on processing days.
  • Collect and manage quality performance data.
  • Complete weekly payroll for hatchery employees.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve operational or personnel issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Order supplies for both hatcheries, including vaccines and essential materials.
  • Work with internal and external partners to meet all audit requirements, with an expectation of 100% compliance.
Working Conditions

Work may occur in office, hatchery, feed mill, or outdoor environments. Conditions vary based on operational needs.

Basic Qualifications:
  • - One year ’s or more experience in a processing or manufacturing environment.
  • - Must have knowledge of hatchery of baby chicks.
  • - Previous supervisory experience a must.
  • - Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • - Good interpersonal skills.
  • - Ability to recognize and advise when unsafe conditions are observed.
  • - Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Education: Degree preferred
