Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, Management or related field.
4+ years hatchery experience or combined hatchery/related poultry industry experience.
3 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Manage hatchery activities including egg pick-up, incubation, hatching, grading, vaccination, and chick shipping.
Oversee maintenance of facility and equipment.
Supervise chick care, packing, and transfers.
Oversee quality assurance/quality control program.
Coordinate with breeder manager to project egg needs.
Work with contract service providers as needed.
Manage weekly hatch schedules and ensure proper bird counts for processing.
Monitor equipment repairs and hatchery sanitation.
Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Stay updated on industry trends and hatchery equipment.
Manage hatchery budget.
