Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical, welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
• Must be able to use basic hand tools.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow task‑specific instructions, such as Lock‑out/Tag‑out procedures.
• Must be a team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical repairs at our hatchery including plumbing, lighting, heating, air conditioning, etc.
• Check, install, and repair equipment, such as controllers, watering systems, ventilation systems, generators, wells and septic systems.
• Repair wooden structures, work with chicken wire, replace electrical and plumbing fixtures, cut Plexiglas to fit aluminum frames, routine maintenance on buildings, grease equipment, ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Wear PPE and maintain clean work areas after shifts.
