Job summary

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Hatchery Program is seeking an Hourly Laborer to support statewide trout and warmwater fish culture and stocking efforts across multiple hatcheries in WV.

Responsibilities include assisting with hatchery operations, general maintenance in harsh weather, and handling tasks that require walking on steep terrain. Must be 18+, able to lift 50 pounds, and possess a valid driver’s license. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with the public.
• Applicants must be physically fit and capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of hatchery operations including trout and warmwater fish culture and stocking.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks in harsh weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Work involves walking up and down steep embankments and rough terrain.
• Atypical working hours may be required.
