Job summary

Wayne Farms in Texas seeks a Hatchery Attendant to support daily hatchery operations, including egg handling, incubation, chick care, and facility upkeep. This role requires attention to biosecurity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform hourly checks, respond to alarms, assist with fumigation, and maintain sanitary standards. On-site training and benefits start day one, with a schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must complete required logs and forms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Follow detailed processes with accuracy.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Makes hourly checks of hatchers and setters, recording problems and performing minor repairs.
  • Calls maintenance/management for major repairs.
  • Makes checks inside setters/hatchers for humidifier leaks and proper turning.
  • Responds to hatchery alarms; repairs or notifies management.
  • Performs security checks and locks doors after daytime shift.
  • Operates auxiliary power unit and electrical panel changes during power failures.
  • Notifies Hatchery Manager when power issues occur.
  • Refills wick reservoirs per supervisor’s instructions.
  • Assists with fumigation schedule for hatchers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
