Job summary

Blackhawk Mining, LLC is seeking a supervisor to oversee the underground maintenance/electrical function for the designated mine area. The role focuses on keeping equipment in safe permissible condition to minimize downtime and maximize cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include directing electrical repairs, supervising maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment, conducting regular permissible checks, and overseeing the preventive maintenance program.

Job description

Supervise the maintenance/electrical function for the area of the mine assigned. Maintaining equipment in ready, permissible condition there‑by reducing down time and increasing cost effectiveness.

• Maintain the mine electrical system in safe permissible condition.
• Direct the electrical repair work to ensure safe efficient completion.
• Supervise all maintenance to mobile and stationary equipment in assigned area.
• Regular permissible checks on all electrical equipment.
• Oversee the preventive maintenance program for assigned area.
• See that all electrical/maintenance reports required by law or company policy are completed.
• Regular inspection of equipment to ensure operating condition and removing from service for repair when required.
• Order parts and supplies for repair work.
• Participate in the evaluation of equipment life as to rebuilds or replacements.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of UG electricity, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics and welding.
• Able to read prints.
• Skilled at troubleshooting for electrical and maintenance problems.

Requirements:

• WV/MSHA Underground Low, Medium and High Voltage Electrical certification required.
• Minimum 5 years underground maintenance experience required.
• Minimum 2 years underground supervisory experience required.
• WV Underground Mine Foreman certification (preferred).
