Job summary

Carlton Farms is seeking a Harvest Floor Technician to support pork slaughter operations and initial hog splitting as experience grows. You will trim and wash carcasses, work with livestock, and collaborate with a fast-paced team while adhering to USDA regulations and safety.

Starting pay is $17 per hour with potential increases after a 90-day probation, plus overtime opportunities, paid time off, holiday pay, and benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with employer match.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and Saturdays if needed.
• Follow USDA regulations and safety guidelines.

Job Duties

• Work in the slaughter operation of pork.
• Trimming and washing of carcasses.
• Work around and with livestock.
• Work with others in a fast-paced team environment.
• Learn and follow regulations set by the USDA.
• Learn to use and sharpen a knife in an efficient manner.
• Be aware of and follow strict safety guidelines.
• Willing to work overtime and on Saturdays if needed.
• Work Schedule: 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

• Heavy lifting (Capable of at least 50-100 lbs)
• Long periods of walking and standing

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $17 per hour.
• Potential $1.50/hour wage increase after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, based on performance, attendance, and adherence to company standards.
