JBS Foods in Michigan is seeking a Harvest Supervisor to lead the harvest/ Hides production line, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating staffing and shift meetings. The role requires adherence to USDA standards and collaboration with plant management and unions.

The position involves ongoing process improvements, training, and maintaining a productive work environment. Weekend scheduling may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of production experience preferred.
• Knowledge of meat processing and related job specifications.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
• Management/communication skills advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Monitors slaughter area by evaluating product and administering corrective procedures as needed.
• Coordinates attendance issues by filling vacant or absent positions and minimizing turnover.
• Conducts pre-operational inspection of area, sets up production equipment, and submits maintenance work orders.
• Maintains food and work safety regulations, along with HR and safety policies.
• Greets and communicates with personnel to foster a cohesive working environment.
• Audits product and employee safety throughout shift.
• Controls waste by minimizing waste and maintaining a sanitary environment.
• Processes post-operational attendance information from Kronos system.
• Conducts line meetings monthly or as circumstances dictate to address department issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual skills preferred but not required
• Minimum 2-5 years production experience preferred
• Knowledge of meat processing and subsequent job specifications
• Management/communication skills advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors slaughter area by evaluating product and administering corrective procedures as sees fit (i.e. provides indirect job specification training).
• Coordinates attendance issues by coordinating personnel to fill vacant or absent positions and minimizing turnover rates.
• Conducts pre-operational inspection of area, sets up production equipment, and submits maintenance work orders as needed.
• Maintains food and work safety regulations, along with human resources and safety policies.
• Greets and speaks with personnel to provide cohesive working environment
• Audits product and employee safety throughout shift
• Controls waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and providing sanitary working environment
• Processes post-operational attendance information from Kronos system
• Conducts line meetings monthly or as circumstances dictate to address department issues or concerns

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Production and maintenance settings
• Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
• Slippery floors, hot temperatures, and loud ambient noise
• Working on Harvest or Hides production floor for 50+ hours per week

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management

External: USDA and Union

COMMENTS

The schedule for this position is typicallyMonday - Friday. Weekend work required as scheduled.
