Job summary

JBS Foods is seeking a Harvest Supervisor in Michigan's production environment. The role focuses on supervising harvest operations, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety and efficiency on the line.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of production experience and knowledge of meat processing. Strong managerial and communication skills will help lead the team and coordinate attendance, training, and daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• 2–5 years of production experience preferred.
• Knowledge of meat processing and related job specifications.
• Management and communication skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitors slaughter area by evaluating product and administering corrective procedures as needed (i.e. provides indirect job specification training).
• Coordinates attendance issues by coordinating personnel to fill vacant or absent positions and minimizing turnover rates.
• Conducts pre-operational inspection of area, sets up production equipment, and submits maintenance work orders as needed.
• Maintains food and work safety regulations, along with human resources and safety policies.
• Greets and speaks with personnel to provide a cohesive working environment.
• Audits product and employee safety throughout shift.
• Controls waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and providing sanitary working environment.
• Processes post-operational attendance information from Kronos system.
• Conducts line meetings monthly or as circumstances dictate to address department issues or concerns

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Production and maintenance settings
• Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
• Slippery floors, hot temperatures, and loud ambient noise
• Working on Harvest or Hides production floor for 50+ hours per week

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management

External: USDA and Union

Comments:

The schedule for this position is typicallyMonday - Friday. Weekend work required as scheduled.
