Job summary

Millennium Space Systems in El Segundo, part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, seeks a Director of Manufacturing (Harness) to lead satellite component production, quality, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, you will guide staffing, production planning, and flow for harness assemblies and flight hardware.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in aerospace manufacturing, expertise in harnessing or PCB assemblies, and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience overseeing manufacturing personnel.
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of satellite manufacturing engineering principles.
• Experience working with a union represented workforce.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to manufacturing personnel and ensure safe, high-quality production while meeting cost targets.
• Assess health of Manufacturing and Production: capacity, workforce, throughput, bottlenecks.
• Support factory build efforts: staffing, production line planning, flight program builds.
• Define and execute continuous improvement strategies to meet objectives.
• Mentor harness technicians and engineers to ensure precision and safety.
• Lead transitions from low-rate to higher-rate production and to different locations.
• Support proposals and participate in gate reviews.
