Lantern Community Services, Inc. seeks a Harm Reduction Specialist to provide person-centered support for individuals experiencing homelessness and related health challenges.

The role focuses on health, stability, and recovery through harm reduction strategies, education, and service linkage. The position works across four Manhattan sites, with hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and requires CASAC-T or enrollment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CASAC-T required, or willingness to enroll within 6 months and complete within 18 months.
• Minimum 2 years in harm reduction/substance use services.
• Experience with homelessness, mental illness, substance use, HIV/AIDS, or chronic conditions.
• Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and caseload management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.
• Experience with risk assessments and referrals.
• Experience with community outreach.

Responsabilités

• Provide person-centered harm reduction and substance use services.
• Engage tenants and promote health, wellness, and housing stability.
• Conduct risk assessments and referrals.
• Identify service needs and support tenants’ goals.
• Collaborate with teams and participate in training and supervision.
• Develop and facilitate workshop curricula with Harm Reduction Leadership.
• Coordinate health and service engagement at on-site tables.
