Job summary

The Hardwood Lumber Sales & Procurement Manager at Timber Products Co. leads growth of our Hardwood Lumber accounts and sources materials for Component Mill operations.

You will manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to post-sale service, and collaborate with production to forecast volumes and develop schedules to meet customer needs. Based in Michigan, this role requires travel across the USA (and occasional Canada/Mexico) to meet clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business; 2–4 years sales experience related to hardwoods preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with customers, vendors and management staff.
• Ability to meet sales targets and craft compelling proposals.
• Strong negotiation skills to procure materials at favorable prices.
• Willingness to travel within the USA, with occasional visits to Canada, Mexico and other regions.

Responsibilities

• Represent Company product lines, grow existing accounts and develop new opportunities.
• Make sales presentations, align client needs with TP products, and guide customers to optimal solutions.
• Forecast sales, develop quotas, and manage territories with price and product mix strategy.
• Plan, source, and negotiate lumber for the Component Mill and manage vendor relationships.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain factors to adjust procurement needs.
• Travel to meet customers and vendors to sustain cohesive relationships.
• Provide proactive customer service and post-sale support, resolving issues with credit and claims when needed.
