Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a hands-on Lab Manager to own and optimize our test lab environment in Austin, ensuring safety, efficiency, and rapid validation of hardware and software assets. You will manage day-to-day operations, equipment, and inventory while collaborating with engineering teams to support product bring-up and ongoing validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in hardware/test environments, ideally semiconductors or embedded systems.
• Hands-on with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, analyzers, supplies, DMMs.
• Experience managing lab infrastructure and inventory, including asset tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lab Management & Operations: oversee day-to-day test lab operations, access control, safety, housekeeping, and maintenance.
• Inventory & Asset Management: maintain accurate inventory; implement check-in/check-out processes; manage storage and lifecycle of test hardware and consumables.
• Support for Engineering Teams: provide hands-on support for board bring-up and system integration.
• Documentation & Process Improvement: create and maintain lab documentation, equipment lists, and shipment of inventory between sites.
