Job summary

Lunar Energy in Mountain View is seeking a Test Engineering Intern to help validate our hardware across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers to design test methodologies, build test stands for PCBA testing, and write Python scripts to automate tests and process data.

On a daily basis you’ll analyze test results, contribute to test infrastructure improvements, and assist with failure investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering in progress; mechatronics or electrical engineering preferred.
• Hands-on project experience and curiosity.
• Working knowledge of Python and OOP.
• Electronics/circuit analysis knowledge; thermodynamics/heat transfer a plus.
• Experience with test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, DAQs, sensors.
• Familiarity with testing embedded/IoT systems or wireless (Wifi/mesh/BLE) is a plus.
• Basic CAD familiarity and PCBAs design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform and execute testing as part of hardware validation.
• Design and build test stands for PCBA testing.
• Specify test stand equipment and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers on test stands.
• Write Python scripts for test automation and data processing.
• Contribute to test infrastructure improvements and codebase features.
• Assist failure analysis investigations with design and reliability teams.
• Analyze test data and write test reports with key takeaways.
