Job summary

Westmag is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to own the test function for drone motors and robotic actuators. You will design test rigs, analyze data, and drive design/process improvements, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and customer teams to ensure reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes developing test processes, supporting qualification, and publishing SOPs, while training test technicians in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in test engineering, preferably in motor, robotics, or aerospace.
• Experience designing and building test equipment and implementing test programs.
• Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and process improvements.
• Proficient with test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute motor and actuator test processes.
• Design and build test rigs for production and R&D hardware.
• Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and improvements.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and field applications to address reliability and performance issues.
• Support new product qualification and certification activities.
• Document test processes, develop SOPs, and hire and train test technicians.
