Job summary

MANTECH in Fort Meade, MD seeks a motivated Hardware Technician to join our team. The role focuses on hands-on repair, troubleshooting, and calibration of specialized equipment ensuring secure, mission-ready hardware.

The candidate will work with precision tools, read schematics, and adhere to strict ESD safety protocols while supporting sensitive systems under TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance. Strong attention to detail, ability to handle hazardous materials, and experience with micro-soldering are

Qualifications

1+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency with precision hand tools, test equipment, soldering irons, heat guns, and rework stations.
Deep knowledge of internal device anatomy (motherboards, power supplies, logic boards, LCD panels).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, board views, and repair manuals.
Solid understanding of ESD safety procedures and proper chemical usage.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot malfunctioning specialized classified equipment using test equipment and diagnostic software.
Perform precise mechanical and electrical repairs and calibrations, including micro-soldering and component replacements.
Disassemble devices, clean components, reapply thermal paste, and reassemble to factory standards.
Run post-repair benchmarks and stress tests to ensure hardware stability.
Maintain organized parts inventory and document components used.
Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols when handling hazardous materials.
